Position Purpose:

Perform a wide range of transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with a high degree of accuracy. Maintain accurate transactions records, providing cash receipt and payment services in accordance with credit union policies and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities: General:

- Represents the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner.

- Maintains a positive and helpful attitude with members and co-workers.

- Assists with incoming telephone calls when not actively assisting members.

- Promotes credit union products and services based on member needs.

- Follows all policies and procedures of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).

- Maintains work area in a clean, organized and professional manner.

- Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Member Service Teller Duties:

- Greets and welcomes members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner.

- Assumes responsibility for the efficient and accurate performance of assigned teller functions within established procedural guidelines

- Processes member transactions, verifies transactions, monitors deposit amounts, examines documents for endorsement and negotiability, detects and resolves discrepancies promptly.

- Receives deposits and disburses cash or check withdrawals, order checks, process stop payments, cashiers’ checks, money orders.

- Processes a variety of other routine financial transactions accurately and efficiently including transfers, loan and credit card payments and other member transactions.

- Maintain knowledge of all State and Federal Regulations that are applicable to the transactions performed in the teller area.

- Performs member file maintenance and account changes as requested.

- Responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of cash on hand, balancing daily transactions and verifying cash totals. Research and resolve out-of-balance conditions and cash drawer discrepancies promptly.

- Receives incoming telephone calls, responds to inquiries or directs them as necessary.

- Processes a variety of other tasks, including but not limited to processing daily and monthly reports, processing member mail transactions, account reviews, supply ordering, lobby maintenance, etc.

Member Service Representative Duties:

- Open new share, share draft, money market, certificate, and IRA accounts. Assist members with new account opening: ensure necessary documentation has been collected and archived, validate account set up in CU Base, educate members about additional services, follow-up as needed.

- Service existing share, share draft, certificate, and IRA accounts. Assist members with inquiries about their accounts. Research deposit, withdrawal, and loan payment discrepancies. Handle member requests for transfers, withdraws, change of address, loan payments, online bill pay maintenance, CD, and IRA transactions, etc.

- Assist members with various other requests for products or services such as wire transfer requests, file maintenance updates, account research, etc.

- Promote credit union products and services based on member needs that are obtained from member interviews and/or review of member’s account. Actively promote credit union products and services.

- Assist the Branch Operations Manager and Operations Supervisor in completing various back office and administrative projects.

- Maintain up to date comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products, services, rules, regulations, and policies that are handled or promoted by the MSR.

Plastic Card Specialist Duties:

- Handle member inquiries regarding all aspects of their credit and debit cards.

- Order all member debit and credit cards

- Prepare and work all debit and credit card reports

- Work in conjunction with debit and credit card processor regarding lost/stolen cards and fraudulent transactions. Assist member with plastic card recovery after theft or loss.

- Process PIN requests, address changes, travel notifications.

- Ensure compliance with rules and regulations governing all plastic cards

- Maintain organized and current plastic card files

Individual Retirement Accounts Duties:

- Open new IRA accounts. Enter all required information in the credit union’s computer system and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation that complies with State and Federal rules and regulations.

- Service existing IRA accounts. Assist members with IRA deposits, withdrawals, RMD’s, address changes, etc. Research discrepancies and perform file maintenance changes as necessary.

- Be a subject matter expert for the credit union on Individual Retirement Accounts and other savings products and services. Ensure knowledge is up to date by attending education seminars and training courses, reading industry periodicals and completing online training.
